Every pet on the Crumb platform gets their own online profile, which is shown when the QR code on their tag is scanned. Owners have complete control over what is shown on the pet profile, including if you want certain information to be hidden from public view (like your pet's name or picture, for example). Your pet's profile displays information which could be vital if someone were to find your pet, including their allergies or nutritional needs. When someone scans your pet's tag and shares their location, you'll be instantly alerted by a text message showing your pet's location on a map. Whoever scans the tag can still call the owner, but this way owners can be instantly alerted to their pet's location without having to speak to anyone. Arguably the most important part of the Crumb service, vet and shelter notifications are sent out when a pet is marked as missing in an owner's dashboard. To give your pet the best chance of being found quickly, we notify local vets and animal shelters (as well as other Crumb members in the area) so they can keep an eye out as well. Did you know that a dog's nose print is as unique as a human's fingerprint? Because of this, it can be an excellent way to identify a pet - especially if a thief has removed their tag or microchip. SnoutID is the name we gave to our proprietary algorithm which converts a picture of your dog's nose into a biometric fingerprint.
