Crumb is a family-run, community-centered tech company based in the UK. Crumb was founded by two brothers, Nick and Tom Jackson, in January 2022, and it continues to grow with the help of Crumb community members like you! Crumb's mission is simple: we aim to reunite as many lost pets with their owners as possible!
Introducing the Crumb tag
At the forefront of the Crumb system is the Crumb tag- a lightweight, wearable QR code that provides anyone with a smartphone the means to reunite a lost pet with their owner as efficiently as possible. At first glance, the Crumb tag appears to be an ordinary pet tag, but a scan of its QR code reveals a host of useful information, and unique features designed to turn lost pets into found pets. Imagine you find a lost dog wearing a Crumb tag. You'll not only have access to all of their owner's address and contact info, you'll also know the dog's name, breed, age, relevant medical info, and a host of pertinent details to help you while they're in your care.
Get a hold of the pet owner!
You can use the Pet Profile to contact the owner using a hidden phone number with built-in number masking to protect your privacy. To put the owner's mind at ease, you can also send them an instant GPS alert with your precise location, which will help them to meet up with you, and take back their pet as quickly as possible.
Meet the Crumb Community
Losing a pet is an everyday nightmare. Fortunately, the features of a Crumb tag don't end at providing information. Vets, shelters, and Crumb community members within a specified radius will receive alerts that a given pet is missing. Crumb also creates Facebook posts about a lost pet, targeted at people within the search radius of a missing pet. This prompts the whole community to join the search! Public participation is the magic ingredient that helps us re-unite our users with their lost pets!

What else does crumb do to protect pets?
Crumb's functionality doesn't stop at the wearable tag. We've created a proprietary technology called SnoutID that creates a bio-metric scan of your pet's nose to help identify them, even if they lose their tag. In the UK, nearly four dogs are stolen per day. As more and more vets adopt a SnoutID scan as an essential step of their service, pet theft becomes less and less viable. Pets marked as missing or stolen become easily identified as such, and pet thieves have a much harder time keeping stolen pets from being found by their owners!
A vet that never takes a day off
In April 2024, Crumb launched a new service called Crumb Vet, which is essentially a 'tele-health' service for pets. Start a chat, and you'll be speaking with a real vet from anywhere in the world! We like to think of it like as having a direct line to your close friend who's a vet. You just might save yourself an expensive visit to a real-world vet by asking one of our video vets a question over video chat at any time of the day!

What does the future hold for Crumb?
